Ship recycling activity, also known as shipbreaking or ship dismantling, involves the dismantling and disposal of old, decommissioned ships in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Typically conducted in specialized facilities located in regions such as South Asia, ship recycling encompasses various processes including the removal of hazardous materials like asbestos and heavy metals, as well as the recycling of steel and other valuable materials. While ship recycling plays a crucial role in the sustainable management of maritime assets and the global economy by facilitating the reuse of materials and reducing waste, it also raises concerns regarding worker safety, environmental pollution, and social responsibility, prompting calls for stricter regulations and adherence to international standards. Having obtained prior approval and developed the necessary facilities, we initiated Ship Recycling operations at Alang-Sosiya Ship Breaking Yard in 2009. Subsequently, we have acquired 37 ships to date, with details provided below:
